Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place and implemented to meet both statutory and internal reporting requirements
- Provide support in identifying and managing accounting and tax related issues associated with growth and expansion
- Ensure timely completion of statutory audits and filing of all tax returns
- Maintain a team-oriented work environment and help build and develop the controllership team
- Conduct training to controllership team on finance and accounting matters as necessary
- Ensure that monthly financial reporting activities in accordance with the APAC Close schedule tasks & timetable are completed on time
- Maintain a system of internal controls to meet the Corporate compliance requirement with Sarbanes Oxley Act, with support from Corporate team and provide continued support and training to staff around these controls;
- Maintain written procedures for all recurring APAC Finance tasks adequate to guide another member of the Finance Team through the completion of the recurring monthly, quarterly & annual procedures
- Assist the APAC Controller with the management of various ad hoc projects as necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- Accounting degree and at least 10 years’ professional experience relevant to Financial Accounting and Business Tax Compliance
- Qualified Accountant (CPA) required with experience working with a multinational company an advantage
- Strong general accounting background, including an understanding of international accounting standards
- Solid knowledge of local tax and fiscal issues
- Strong understanding of transfer pricing principles and experience in their application
- Strong systems and process implementation skills (including SOX)
- Decisive, organised, team player with strong interpersonal skills
- US GAAP reporting experience
- Previous controlling experience in a similar organisation (technology/ multi-national)
- Willing to travel (10% to 15% maximum)
- Excellent communication skills and strong English language skills (written & spoken)
- Strong computer literacy (Netsuite or similar Accounting System, Microsoft Office suite of products, Electronic Banking package)
- Ability to work and deliver within tight deadlines and willingness to work longer than standard hours to ensure a task is completed on time when required
- Displays initiative in the carrying out of their duties, constantly looking for ways to improve processes to promote efficiency or strengthen control
- Ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers. High degree of accuracy and reliability in financial accounting
- Willingness to take on additional projects or workload from time to time
- Mature approach to work and ability to work autonomously
- Exemplary integrity, ethics and trustworthiness
- Ability to identify areas of concern and raise to appropriate level of management
