Position Overview:
An Accountant plays a critical role in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and complying with legal and regulatory requirements. Their responsibilities include preparing and maintaining financial statements, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, ensuring tax compliance, conducting internal audits, and analyzing financial data to identify discrepancies or cost-saving opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the company’s business systems, processes, controls, policies, and procedures relevant to the assigned location and department.
- Prepare accounting reports and conduct increasingly complex accounting analyses using spreadsheets or related applications, identifying and resolving issues.
- Prepare and post journal vouchers for accounting transactions while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Research and resolve basic accounting issues and transactions, including those related to internal controls.
- Gain familiarity with the organizational structure of the company to support financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of nine (9) months of experience in accounting-related roles.
- Knowledge of US GAAP or country-specific accounting principles.
- Ability to perform financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting with intermediate proficiency in financial applications.
- Developmental understanding of general accounting, internal controls, and company/industry-specific acumen.
