Accountant

Positional Overview:

We are looking for an Accountant who develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Cash Flows, etc., per GAAP policies and procedures. Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Create and monitor systems for controlling procedures and forms to record fixed assets.
• Ensure compliance with policies, internal controls and external audits.
• Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
• Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
• Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
• Post depreciation for all fixed assets.
• Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
• Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets & assign tag numbers to fixed assets.
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their queries.
• Support during any audits by a government that involve fixed assets.
• Track company expenditures for fixed assets compared to the capital budget and management authorizations.
• Preparation of bank reconciliation system.
• Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
• Handling requests/queries from stakeholders.
• Accountability for all the tasks assigned.

Skills:

• Advance Excel skills
• Systematic & analytical skills
• Critical for managing asset records, depreciation schedules, and reconciliations.
• To ensure compliance and proper treatment of capital expenditures.
• Experience with tools like SAP, Oracle, or Tally, and advanced Excel skills for asset tracking and reporting.

Qualifications:

• 3-4 years of relevant experience in fixed assets is preferred.
