Position Overview:
Google accounting analysts are savvy and handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You’ll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Every day is a new challenge, and you’re continually looking for ways to help our team become more efficient and effective. Responsibilities:
- Manage activities, including preparing, analyzing and posting journal entries.
- Review reconciliations of balance sheet account balances including relevant reporting for the same.
- Identify opportunities to centralize, eliminate, or automate activities. Review processes and implement controls to ensure we are mitigating risk for Google.
- Manage, establish, implement global processes for the accounting of initiatives (ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and operational excellence), and prepare for, and assist with internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with our global team and advocate best practices to ensure proper accounting is adhered to throughout the procurement process.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement automation to optimize accounting processes.
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Experience in preparing for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
- Ability to work with global teams, advocate best practices, and ensure consistency in procurement and accounting procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to work well separately and in a team environment.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, with effective business acumen.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or other professional accounting qualification.
- 4 years of experience with public accounting or industry.
- Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience with A/P Accounting.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, fluid environment and drive initiatives.
