Positional Overview:
The Assistant Management Accountant supports the finance team by preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting processes. The role ensures timely and accurate financial information to help guide strategic decisions within the organization.
Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts, ensuring all relevant journals (accruals, prepayments, etc.) are posted.

Conduct detailed variance analysis to explain differences between actual results and budget/forecast, highlighting key business drivers.

Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes by gathering data, collaborating with budget holders, and preparing reports for management.

Ensure all financial reporting is completed to a high standard, aligned with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Maintain strong working knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including debits/credits, accruals, and prepayments, to ensure correct financial treatment.
Skills:
- Proven experience in variance analysis, monthly forecasting, and annual budgeting.
- Strong grasp of accounting principles including debits/credits, prepayments, and accruals.
- Expertise in Excel for financial modeling and data analysis; experience with Navision is a plus.
- Ability to clearly explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

Professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable
- 1–3 years of proven experience in management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
