Position Overview:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting in strategic financial planning. This role involves managing daily accounting functions, supervising a team, and supporting senior management in decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, secure, and maintain financial records, cash, and other assets as per company policies.
- Prepare, audit, and distribute financial reports, including payroll, statistical, and accounting statements.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile invoices, bills, and account statements.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and vendor payments to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
- Maintain professional communication, both written and verbal.
- Develop positive working relationships and contribute to team success.
Skills:
- Ability to check figures, postings, and financial documents for accuracy.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills for classifying and summarizing financial data.
- Expertise in maintaining financial records, journals, and ledgers.
- Knowledge of period-end closing procedures, auditing, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and financial data analysis tools.
- Strong command of MS Excel and computerized financial information systems.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to resolve past-due accounts and vendor invoice discrepancies.
- Strong understanding of company policies, financial regulations, and confidentiality protocols.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or any other related field
