Position Overview

UST is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate I – Data Management to join our Data Management team in Kochi. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with a foundation in financial data or business operations who are passionate about maintaining data integrity, supporting automation initiatives, and contributing to the efficiency of global data operations.

As an Associate I, you will be responsible for managing, validating, and maintaining high-quality security, pricing, and index data on the firm’s global Data Management platform. The position offers hands-on exposure to data governance, process improvement, and collaboration with global stakeholders across business and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain security, index, and price data on the global Data Management platform

  • Perform daily quality and validation checks on security master, pricing, and index data

  • Monitor and control data feeds from internal and external sources to ensure data accuracy and completeness

  • Review exception and missing price reports; research and update prices for illiquid securities

  • Manually input verified prices from approved market data sources when required

  • Recalculate Private Equity (PE) prices following drawdowns or valuation events

  • Monitor shared team mailboxes and ensure prompt resolution of data-related queries

  • Assist the Line Manager in data projects, process improvements, and automation initiatives

  • Participate in testing and validating system change requests and new releases

  • Maintain and oversee automated (“robot”) processes to ensure smooth data delivery

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, macros, Power Query, VBA) and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for global stakeholder engagement

  • Basic understanding of securities data (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives), pricing, and index data

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality

  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines under pressure

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

  • Experience in data management or financial operations, ideally within the asset management industry

  • Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and validation

  • Exposure to data-intensive projects or automation initiatives

  • Familiarity with OTC Derivatives and related data structures
