Position Overview

As a Project Business Controller at Hitachi Energy, you will play a key role in supporting Project Managers across multiple projects, ensuring financial accuracy, performance, and compliance. You will also collaborate with the OU Controller on overall business controlling tasks. This role requires strong analytical thinking, commercial acumen, and a proactive approach to driving project and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Financial Management
  • Support Project Managers in all financial and commercial matters and help drive project performance.

  • Provide financial inputs to the Project Execution Plan.

  • Prepare project invoices and handle financial accounting and reporting.

  • Drive project cash flow, monitor currency risks, and manage tax-related aspects.

  • Ensure accuracy of the project balance sheet, income statement, and forecasting (monthly/quarterly).

Business Controlling & Reporting
  • Download, consolidate, and analyze financial data from HE reporting tools.

  • Support the OU Controller in business controlling activities across units.

  • Assist in monthly closing and reporting cycles.

  • Conduct various ad-hoc analyses related to cost management, cash flow, and utilization metrics.

Sales & Business Development
  • Drive service sales and business development across assigned market segments (Utilities, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, EPCs, Industrial Clients, etc.).

  • Support commercial aspects with a strong customer- and business-oriented mindset.

Governance & Compliance
  • Support compliance with corporate governance, internal controls, finance directives, and group guidelines.

  • Ensure adherence to external and internal regulations and procedures.

  • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance (preferred).

  • 0–5 years of experience in project controlling or finance within the Energy or T&D (Transmission & Distribution) industry.

  • Strong commercial, communication, and customer-handling skills.

  • Good knowledge of project accounting and financial principles.

  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and processes.
