Position Overview:
The QuickBook Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP), processing employee reimbursements, and overseeing the collections process. This role requires a detailed understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in QuickBooks, and the ability to manage multiple financial processes efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Process and verify incoming invoices and ensure they are correctly coded to the appropriate expense accounts.
- Prepare payment batches and perform check runs or electronic payments in a timely manner.
- Reconcile AP ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Handle vendor queries and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Process employee expense reports, verifying accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure timely reimbursement to employees for out-of-pocket expenses.
- Record payments received and reconcile accounts receivable ledger.
- Prepare reports on the status of collections and outstanding balances.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, including but not limited to AP aging, expense reports, and collections reports.
- Support the Finance Manager in auditing and compliance activities.
Skills:
- Understand how to navigate QuickBooks, set up company files, manage accounts, generate financial reports, and customize features based on business needs.
- ave a strong grasp of accounting principles, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Know how to process payroll, calculate taxes, and generate payroll reports using QuickBooks Payroll.
- Be familiar with tax codes, deductions, and how to use QuickBooks for tax filings, sales tax calculations, and preparing year-end tax documents.
- Use QuickBooks to analyze financial data, create insightful reports, and provide recommendations to improve business performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with a strong focus on AP, employee reimbursements, and collections.
- High proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
