Analyse the Management P&L and Balance sheet, and also the Statutory P&L and Balance sheet, to ensure that financial statements are accurate and complete.
Analyse trends and work collaboratively across the Finance community to understand variations in trends and against the comparator of historic actuals e.g. Variance against prior year.
Ensure GL codes are used consistently and appropriately across the organisation
Set up and operate BFC reports that allow us to have consistent view of financial statements
Prepare standard and ad-hoc analysis reports for group.
This role is high profile and you will work naturally across a matrix organisation. You will engage well with a range of stakeholders in WPP IT Finance and F+ to promote continuous improvement, compliance and best practice
Identify areas for improvement and lead through to resolution. Listen to stakeholders and combine feedback from them with your own ideas to recommend changes to upstream business process, to address issues that are driving inaccuracies in the financial statements.
Ensure SOX controls are adhered to.
Qualified / nearly-qualified accountant (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Degree or equivalent (i.e. MBA) desirable but not essential
Experience of working in a matrix/global organisation desirable
Skills / Experience Requirements
Experience working in a large organisation with a high-volume intercompany transactions
Experience of providing support for SOX controls or audit
Advanced excel skills
SAP BFC experience or a similar consolidation system
Experience in financial management
