About The Job

Harness is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Senior Accountant to be an integral part of the global accounting operations team. This position will be based in Bangalore,India and will be reporting to the Accounting Manager. In this role, you will take full ownership of the Accounts Payable lifecycle, manage daily cash operations, and serve as a critical partner to the Accounting Manager during month-end closes and the annual India statutory audit.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com). Semi-qualified CA (Chartered Accountant) or ICWA is a strong plus.
  • 4-6 years of accounting/general ledger experience with an emphasis knowledge of accounting related requirements and regulations in India.
  • Experience with NetSuite is required. Ramp/Zip experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to work extended hours during critical periods such as month-end, quarter-end and year-end.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft business suite with strong Excel/Googlesheets skills
    Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

 

  • Complete accurate daily booking of all cash entries and perform timely bank and cash reconciliations.
  • Oversee the entire AP workflow, including vendor invoice verification and processing, payment execution, and the tracking and booking of monthly accruals and prepaid expenses.
  • Review and audit employee expense reports to ensure strict compliance with company T&E policy.
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Own and manage balance sheet reconciliations (prepaids, accruals, cash, and fixed assets).
  • Investigate variances and resolve discrepancies across accounts
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual local and tax filings to the relevant authorities as required (GST, TDS etc)
  • Actively assist the Accounting Manager in preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and resolving queries for the annual India statutory audit.
  • Assist with process improvements and ad hoc accounting projects.
  • Partner cross-functionally with finance and operations teams as needed.
