Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting principles and hands-on experience in financial operations within a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) or the financial services sector. The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate records, and supporting month-end processes.

The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and capable of handling multiple priorities with precision. You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and timely reporting across business functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and process journal entries, vendor invoices, and customer receipts with appropriate general ledger (GL) codes.

  • Perform daily cash book maintenance and reconcile bank statements regularly.

  • Track and record disbursements, repayments, and interest income related to the loan portfolio.

  • Assist in reconciliation of loan-related data between core lending systems and actual bank transactions.

  • Support the preparation of regulatory filings for the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

  • Maintain proper documentation to support tax filings and compliance audits.

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes including accruals, adjustments, and provisions.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to collect data inputs for Management Information System (MIS) reporting.

  • Maintain organized and audit-ready records of all financial transactions for statutory and internal audits.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com)

  • CA Inter or Semi-qualified Chartered Accountant preferred

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in NBFCs or financial institutions

  • Proficiency in Tally for daily accounting operations

  • Solid working knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, taxation (TDS, GST), and reconciliation procedures

  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a lending company or NBFC setup

  • Familiarity with RBI regulatory requirements and NBFC-specific accounting practices

  • Exposure to audit preparation and financial reporting within regulated environments

  • Experience in reconciling financial statements and generating MIS reports
