Position Overview:

The Accountant is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves monitoring and analyzing accounting data, preparing financial statements, and maintaining compliance with regulations and standards. The Accountant will also handle daily transactions, reconciliations, and reporting, while supporting audit and tax processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, ensuring accurate preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and prepare quarterly GST returns with proper reconciliation.
  • Handle accounts payable, including invoice coding, supplier payments, and supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement schedules and journal entries, and assist with month-end closing.
  • Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, petty cash, and staff claims while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing audit and tax schedules, supporting audit processes, and ensuring proper documentation and filing.

Skills:

  • Proficient in performing accurate and timely bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and accounting records.
  • Skilled in handling the end-to-end accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong ability to manage and analyze general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate journal entries and proper account reconciliation.
  • Experienced in analyzing and allocating costs to improve financial efficiency and support decision-making processes.
  • Well-versed in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to ensure compliance in financial reporting and disclosures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 4-6 years of hands-on experience in full-set accounting, including financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with GST regulations and standards.
