Role Overview

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 5+ years of experience to oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for the academy. You’ll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, managing budgets, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting: accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, MIS reports, and budgets for management review
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (VAT/GST as applicable) and statutory filings
  • Monitor cash flow, fee collections, and vendor payments
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and ensure audit readiness
  • Maintain and improve internal financial controls and accounting processes
  • Handle payroll processing and reconciliation
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for academy programmes and operations
  • Liaise with banks, vendors, and regulatory bodies as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA/CPA/CMA a plus)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in education/training or services industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar) and MS Excel
  • Solid understanding of local tax laws and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
