Chief Accountant

Position Overview:

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operation, reporting, compliance. This role will assist the Financial Controller or as directed by the Management, ensuring the group financial strategy is implemented in accordance with the Group’s policy & procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily accounting operations, supervising, controls, mentoring staff, ensuring teamwork and  efficient and effective operation.
  
• Verify daily bank balances and review Bank Reconciliation statements weekly.
  
• Oversee Accounts Payable and ensure supplier payments are up to date.
  
• Verify the accuracy of General Cashier report and that revenue is daily deposited into the bank by the General Cashier.
  
• Reconcile Revenue Reports.
  
• Ensure proper controls of Inventory and maintain proper Inventory records.
  
• To perform month-end accounts reconciliation of all general ledger balances before issuing monthly financial statements and  Report any gaps or variance.
  
• Review monthly report including F&B report, Cost Controller’s report etc. as per company policy
  
• Ensure all tax payment and filing are respected timely, and variances are resolved.
  
• Prepare various monthly reports as required by Management.
  
• Assist the Financial controller or as directed by management in reviewing application of accounting policy, budgeting, financial analysis, and ad-hoc duties.
  
• Ensure proper filing of accounting records, including contracts, and easy retrievals.
  
• Keep updated with new regulations.
  

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory systems
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and POS systems and hospitality related systems
• Possesses skills of leadership, developing, strategic thinking, problem solver
• Results and service oriented with an eye for details
• Ability to multi-task, work well in fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & preferably CA (Inter)
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
