Position Overview:

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, following established accounting principles, policies, and financial standards. You will manage the reconciliation of general ledger to subledger and ensure the financial close process is executed in compliance with the agreed schedules and internal control frameworks. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, resolving discrepancies, and working collaboratively with various teams including IT and business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with established accounting principles, policies, and financial standards (TGAP).

  • Apply basic accounting concepts such as Debits / Credits and Control accounts while recording transactions.

  • Reconcile the general ledger to subledger and take accountability for the financial close process, ensuring compliance with the period close schedules.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations according to best practice requirements and risk assessment methodology.
  • Assist and provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is prepared and accessible.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, including Debits, Credits, and Control Accounts.
  • Experience with general ledger to subledger reconciliation and overseeing the financial close process.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with different teams (business, IT, and finance), auditors, and stakeholders.
  • Expertise in supporting internal and external audits, including the preparation of financial data and addressing audit findings

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent will be an advantage).
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, reconciliation, or a similar role, with a strong understanding of financial reporting standards and internal controls.

  • Experience working with accounting systems and financial software tools (ERP systems and advanced Excel skills are often preferred).

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in financial accounting, reconciliation, and accounting systems would be expected.
