Position Overview:
A Junior Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the finance team by performing essential accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This entry-level role offers opportunities to develop financial expertise while contributing to the efficiency of the organization’s accounting and reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely payment.
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment processing, daily cash flow and reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing supporting schedules and analyses.
- Support the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records, both physical and electronic. Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information and efficient processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Stay up-to-date on current accounting regulations and best practices, particularly IFRS.
- Contribute to a strong control environment by adhering to internal policies and procedures. Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the general ledger Support month-end and year-end closing processes Assist in payroll preparation and tax filings

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Experience with other GAAP is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Experience in the financial services industry, particularly online trading or brokerage, is a significant advantage. ACCA, ACA, or other relevant professional accounting qualifications are a plus.
- Business level proficiency in English or above (equivalent to B2 or above in CEFR)
