Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

We’re excited about building out our accounting function and are seeking versatile, adaptable and collaborative Senior Accountant to join our highly skilled team. You will utilize your accounting knowledge and experience to ensure best practices and standards are met on a regular basis as Porch builds its internal processes. We have multiple accounting roles available, including opportunities in revenue accounting, our insurance division, and shared services (corporate).

Responsibilities:

• Ensure revenue recognition aligns with ASC 606 and company policies.
• Review and reconcile revenue transactions with billing and invoicing systems.
• Oversee vendor invoices, payments, and related reconciliations.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Reconcile and record insurance premium transactions.
• Process and analyze insurance claims data for financial reporting.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, resolve errors, and ensure accurate financial records.
• Capacity to investigate variances and research issues, as well as provide data-driven solutions.
• Experience with general ledger systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, internal teams, and external auditors to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 4+ years of work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability.
• Prior NetSuite and FloQast experience a plus.
• Proven experience working with US based business teams
• Excellent written and communication skills in English
• Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations – Eastern Standard Time (EST)
• A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
• Knowledge of Fixed Assets, Accruals, Lease accounting, accounting for Payroll and Accounts Payable, Intercompany Accounting, Prepaids, Capitalized Software and debt.
