Position Overview:

A Senior Accounts Manager is a high-level position in the accounting or finance department of an organization. This role typically involves overseeing client accounts, managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving strategic financial decisions. The specific responsibilities may vary depending on the company

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements, reports, and forecasts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Prepare/ assist in the preparation of cross-border consolidated financial statements.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax returns, VAT filings, and other statutory obligations in line with the current tax laws and regulations.
  • Monitor cash flow, financial trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Supervise and ensure the implementation of internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets.
  • Review and improve accounting procedures and systems for efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure the timely completion of audits.
  • Provide support in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Handle complex accounting queries and provide financial insights to senior management.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closings.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, bankers and other stake holders.
  • Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in commerce, accounting, or finance can be considered on a case-to-case basis,
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting including cross-border consolidation, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (Ind IAS, IFRS), taxation, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of accounting software, Tally, Winman, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with tax planning, auditing, and managing external relationships with auditors and tax authorities.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team, with a hands-on approach.
