Position Overview:
Tesco is looking for a skilled and detail-focused Senior Associate- Financial Accounting to join our Finance team. This role supports the General Accounting Manager in managing transactional ledger processes, reconciling accounts, ensuring accurate period-end close, and maintaining compliance with internal controls. It’s a great opportunity to build expertise in general ledger operations within a dynamic shared services environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations and support month-end close processes.

Handle financial transactions using standard accounting principles such as debits, credits, accruals, and control account logic.

Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies by investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Maintain and update financial trackers and reconciliation reports.

Work with cross-functional teams (IT, operations, etc.) to resolve processing or data issues.

Support statutory and internal audits by providing timely and accurate documentation.

Ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines and with high accuracy.

Contribute to process improvements and support team development by mentoring new joiners.

Adhere to Tesco’s Business Code of Conduct and ensure compliance across all responsibilities.

Own and manage individual development with guidance from the line manager.
Skills Required:

Strong understanding of financial accounting concepts and reconciliation processes.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).

Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Effective communication skills and collaborative working style.

Strong sense of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.

Familiarity with control environments and audit support processes.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline.

2–4 years of relevant experience in financial or general ledger accounting.

Experience in a shared services or multinational environment preferred.
