Positional Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join the Finance Operations and Accounting (FOAA) team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while supporting key operational processes. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with various departments to maintain compliance, streamline accounting processes, and contribute to financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and support month-end close activities, including sub-ledger closures, general ledger reconciliations, and balance sheet account analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, while continuously identifying and driving process improvements.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, promptly addressing and resolving discrepancies to maintain data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and responses to ensure smooth audit processes and timely completion.
  • Support financial system launches and process changes, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for accounting entries and financial reporting accuracy.

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), financial reporting, and month-end processes
  • Ability to perform variance analysis, identify discrepancies, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar, along with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Ensure high accuracy in reconciliations, reporting, and financial entries while managing multiple tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • 0-3years of finance experience
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills
