Position Overview:
A Strategic Finance Manager is a senior-level finance professional responsible for driving a company’s financial strategy, long-term planning, and business growth initiatives. This role involves financial forecasting, investment analysis, risk management, and ensuring that financial decisions align with the company’s goals.
Responsibilities:
- Play a central role in defining how the Strategic Finance function works and partner with stakeholders across the business
- Build operational / financial models to analyze the business impact or ROI of key company initiatives, helping us evaluate tradeoffs between driving growth and profitability
- Own and improve our ARR forecasting model for our subscription and usage-based products, while working closely with our revenue operations team to accurately predict business performance and influence investment decisions
- Research and identify primary KPIs to define what operational excellence looks like across different functions within the business
- Work with functional leaders to implement KPI tracking and advise on opportunities to strengthen execution
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis of business trends in partnership with our revenue operations team to identify and articulate key drivers for stakeholders
- Assess the impact of product, marketing or sales growth initiatives to support the business case for investment, and proactively identify tangential opportunities to further drive growth
- Collect and analyze external financial / operational data, and interpret market trends and competitor activities to deliver benchmarking analysis and influence decision making for key stakeholders, including management and investors
- Assist in consolidating operational and financial information in preparation for our quarterly board of directors meetings
Skills:
- Ability to build operational and financial models to evaluate business impact, ROI, and trade-offs between growth and profitability.
- Expertise in ARR forecasting, KPI identification, and investment decision-making to drive long-term business performance.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, competitor activities, and internal business trends for informed decision-making.
- Capability to work with stakeholders across departments (e.g., revenue operations, sales, marketing) to implement KPI tracking and optimize execution.
- Strong presentation and reporting skills to consolidate financial/operational data and deliver insights to senior management and investors.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA from a Tier 1 institute, with 5+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, including 2-4 years in strategic finance within a fast-growing organization.
- Experience working in a global organization with cross-functional teams across multiple countries and time zones; prior experience in SaaS, especially with a usage-based business model, is preferred.
- Advanced modeling skills, including bottoms-up financial modeling, unit economics analysis, and the ability to connect financial insights to overall business impact.
- Strong ability to collaborate with non-financial leaders, advise on operational and financial improvements, and effectively storytell with data to influence decision-making.
- Expertise in Excel/Google Sheets, BI tools (Tableau), and a detail-oriented approach to balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
