Position Overview
The Tax Analyst – Unemployment Insurance (WOTC) role is part of the GDS Indirect Tax function, which supports global tax operations across multiple geographies. Indirect Tax within GDS comprises nine sub-functions operating across eight locations and supporting clients in more than 30 countries worldwide, with plans to expand further.
This role focuses on supporting Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)–related services, contributing to tax compliance, analysis, and reporting activities while working in a dynamic, diverse, and high-performance global environment.
About the Team
GDS Indirect Tax supports country practices by streamlining and managing large, complex tax engagements for global clients. The team is culturally diverse, collaborative, and performance-driven, enabling professionals to gain exposure to multi-country tax operations and global best practices.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, research, analyze, compute, and report activities related to Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC).

Perform data entry and validation to support unemployment insurance and tax credit processes.

Demonstrate an understanding of basic tax concepts and continuously build tax knowledge through client work and current tax developments.

Handle multiple projects within the tax domain and participate in cross-training opportunities.

Identify and propose process improvement ideas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Deliver accurate, high-quality work products within agreed timelines.

Ensure compliance with Ernst & Young policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
Education

Graduate or Postgraduate degree, preferably in Commerce or related fields.
Experience

0–2 years of experience, preferably in accounting or tax-related roles.
Core Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Working knowledge of MS Excel and basic proficiency in other MS Office and web-based applications.

Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
