Tax Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Communicates with finance colleagues in multiple jurisdictions to gather financial data for tax return preparation, transfer pricing documentation, and tax audits.
• Coordinates outsourced federal and state income tax compliance with external accounting firms.
• Assists in review of deliverables from external accounting firms including tax returns, extensions, estimated income tax payments and tax workpapers.
• Assists in preparation of annual return-to-provision calculation and related workpapers.
• Supports the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provision computations and backup workpapers.
• Assists with the preparation and evaluation of the annual effective tax rate, maintenance of income tax reserves, and overall reconciliation of current and deferred taxes and valuation allowances.
• Assists global finance colleagues with the usage of OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) software.
• Continuously maintains a current knowledge of tax law changes related to Altair’s business.
• Collaborates with Tax Manager on specific tax projects as they arise.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• CA Intermediate with 3-5 years’ experience or recently qualified CA preferred.
• Experience with preparation of corporate income tax provisions and tax returns.
• Large multinational corporation and/or Big 4 accounting firm experience is preferred.
• OneSource Tax Provision experience is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and able to use basic data manipulation tools.
• Basic knowledge of US Federal and State tax law, practices, issues and filings.
• Basic knowledge of ASC 740 under US GAAP.
• Strong communication skills; comfortable interfacing with domestic and international colleagues.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and prioritize effectively.
