Position Overview

We are looking for a Trainee – Accounts Receivable (Cash Application) to join our AR team. This role is responsible for accurate and timely application of customer payments, resolving discrepancies, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end financial activities. The Trainee will work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives under moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Application & Reconciliation
  • Accurately apply customer payments including ACH, wire, checks, and lockbox.

  • Investigate and resolve unapplied or misapplied cash.

  • Perform regular reconciliations of customer accounts for accuracy and completeness.

Discrepancy & Issue Resolution
  • Identify short payments, overpayments, and unidentified deductions.

  • Coordinate with the Collections, Billing, and Treasury teams to resolve payment issues.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow up on open items promptly.

Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Assist with preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly cash application reports.

  • Support month-end close activities by ensuring accurate cash postings.

  • Provide insights on payment trends and reconciliation status.

  • Assist with audits by providing necessary data and documentation.

Process Improvement & Standardization
  • Document and update Standard Operating Procedures related to cash application.

  • Support system upgrades, automation initiatives, and process optimization efforts.

  • Identify and recommend best practices for improved efficiency.

Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 0–1 year of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or order-to-cash processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in flexible shifts supporting multiple regions.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.
