Position Overview:
The Accounts Receivable Accountant plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial transactions related to customer payments and outstanding invoices. This position ensures that the company maintains a steady cash flow by managing accounts receivable, performing reconciliations, and ensuring timely collection of payments.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately record transactions and update books, ensuring timely and precise documentation of receipts and payments. Maintain organized records to support financial transparency.
- Implement and follow accounting control procedures to ensure the safekeeping of financial records and supporting documents. Ensure all transactions comply with the company’s finance policies, including processing sales invoices.
- Prepare and manage intra-branch and inter-company reconciliations, ensuring balance agreement at month-end. Analyze external credit reports and undertake reconciliation of customer statements to internal records.
- Work closely with the finance team, following instructions and guidance to solve routine issues. Apply general business knowledge and existing procedures to meet deadlines and resolve standard problems while exchanging basic information with colleagues.
Skills:
- The ability to meticulously record transactions and ensure the accuracy of financial data, preventing errors in receipts, payments, and reconciliations.
- Understanding and applying accounting control procedures to ensure the safekeeping of financial records, and ensuring compliance with company finance policies.
- Proficiency in preparing intra-branch and inter-company reconciliations, analyzing external credit reports, and ensuring that customer statements align with company records.
- Strong ability to solve routine financial issues using established procedures and to work effectively with team members, following guidance and exchanging information to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- 0-1 year(s) of experience.
- Typically requires a bachelor degree or the equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts.
- Graduate of Accounting and/or Finance, preferably a member of recognized accounting professional bodies.
- Requires knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures within a particular area of expertise.
- Knowledge of finance and/or accounting principles.
- Experienced in accounting software applications e.g. Orion / QuickBooks / ACCPAC / SAP.
