Position Overview

RINA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Mumbai office within the Regional Finance Management Division. This role focuses on managing financial transactions related to vendor payments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of invoices and expenses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice Processing: Receive, review, match, and enter invoices in compliance with company policies.

  • Vendor Management: Maintain strong vendor relationships, resolve payment discrepancies, and address queries.

  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments via checks, EFT, or other systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Expense Reimbursement: Process and verify employee expense claims in line with policies.

  • Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate accounts payable records and generate related reports.

  • Month-end Reconciliation: Reconcile sub-ledger with the general ledger and support closing activities.

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend efficiency improvements within accounts payable processes.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, finance, and other departments to support smooth payment operations.

  • Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve accounts payable discrepancies.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Handle additional finance projects or tasks as required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or Finance Management.

  • Internship or coursework in accounting, credit management, or finance preferred.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools for reporting and analysis.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
