Position Overview:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing financial transactions, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of accounting records, and preparing financial reports. This role involves performing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations while supporting the finance team in various financial and reporting tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger by preparing accurate journal entries, performing account analysis, and ensuring proper classification of transactions.
- Prepare and develop financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and income statements, to provide valuable insights for management decision-making.
- Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure all transactions are accurate, and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Review and analyze inter-company transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and timely resolution of any issues.
- Ensure that all journal entries and financial data meet internal and external audit specifications, and provide necessary documentation during audits.
Skills:
- Strong ability to ensure accuracy and precision in journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Sound knowledge of accounting and reporting Standards (e.g., Ind AS/ US GAAP) and ability to assimilate, interpret and apply the standards/concepts in real-life scenarios.
- Efficient in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines, especially during month-end and year-end close.
- Clear and effective communication with both internal teams and external auditors to ensure smooth financial reporting and compliance.
- Sound working knowledge of Standard Costing fundamentals, Supply Chain, and manufacturing accounting concepts.
- Good analytical skills and experience using MS Office
- Reasonably good verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience (Excluding Articleship period in case of CA)
- Preferred qualification: Chartered Accountant / Cost Accountant
