Accountant

Position Overview:

An Accountant is a key professional responsible for managing and analyzing financial information to ensure the accuracy and integrity of an organization’s financial records. This role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining compliance with regulations, and offering insights to support strategic decision-making. Accountants handle tasks such as budgeting, auditing, tax preparation, and financial forecasting, playing a vital role in the financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals and financial statements.
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, such as recording financial transactions, verifying entries, recording discrepancies and finalization.
• Monitor and analyse accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Evaluate & maintain the financial health of the organisation.

Skills:

• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
• Strong understanding of taxation, regulatory compliance, and auditing practices.
• Expertise in data analysis, financial modeling, and using financial software
• Ability to assess financial risks and conduct investment analysis for informed decision-making.
• Strong team leadership, management, and communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
• Critical thinking abilities to identify issues and develop efficient financial solutions.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
