Position Overview
The Executive – Tax Data Operations will play a key role in supporting Unilever’s Global Tax function, which has launched the Future of Tax (FOT) transformation project under the Digital Finance initiative. The project focuses on strengthening compliance and efficiency across Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, Withholding Tax, and Transfer Pricing through a new Target Operating Model (TOM) involving collaboration among Global Tax, Country Tax, UniOps, and external consultants (Big 4s).
As part of this initiative, the UniOps team will serve as the central Tax Data Center of Excellence (COE), responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of tax data across the organization. The role demands strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining data integrity while supporting global tax operations in a standardized and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities

Collect, query, and consolidate financial data from accounting and ERP systems (SAP).

Manage and maintain high data hygiene standards for master and transactional data.

Perform reconciliation and analysis of tax data to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Conduct sample checks on high-value documents to verify accuracy and allowability for tax deductions.

Perform monthly and quarterly VAT calculations and prepare VAT returns for multiple global entities.

Prepare annual Corporate Income Tax packs across different geographies.

Post tax-related accounting entries after obtaining sign-off from Country Tax Teams.

Ensure timely execution of tax payments to government or tax authorities.

Monitor and uphold compliance with Unilever’s control framework and tax-related internal controls.

Prepare, document, and maintain detailed monthly files for direct tax reporting.

Provide analytical data support for audit queries and related documentation.

Archive tax documents as per ITGC and audit standards, ensuring traceability from extraction to filing.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
-
Strong accounting foundation with knowledge of Record to Report (R2R) processes.

Hands-on experience in Direct and Indirect Taxation.

Working knowledge of SAP (FI Module) preferred.

Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or workflow management tools is an added advantage.

Advanced MS Excel proficiency for reporting and analysis.

Educational Qualification & Experience

Semi-qualified CA or Master’s degree in Accounting with 2–3 years of experience.

Newly qualified CMA (first attempt) preferred.

Prior work experience in Accounting and Finance is essential.
