Positional Overview:
The Finance Controller plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of an organization by managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This position ensures that the company’s financial activities align with corporate strategies and comply with legal standards. The Finance Controller collaborates with senior management to drive financial performance, manage risks, and support business decisions through accurate financial insights.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and performance analysis to support decision-making.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies in line with organizational objectives.
- Manage internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
- Implement and monitor internal control systems to protect company assets and ensure accurate reporting.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards (GAAP/IFRS), and financial reporting.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Experience in managing and mentoring a finance team.
- Skilled in using accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications:
- A university degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Hospitality/Tourism Management. A Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Finance Controller or Finance Manager, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, administrative competence, and excellent interpersonal skills.
