Positional Overview:

Join our team as a Revenue Accountant and contribute to the financial health of our organization by ensuring accurate revenue recognition, supporting financial analysis, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze revenue transactions to ensure proper recognition in accordance with US GAAP and company accounting policies, while maintaining compliance with statutory audits, SOX, and internal audits.

  • Oversee contract grouping, revenue allocations, SSP and carve-out analysis, and contingency reviews, ensuring accurate revenue reporting.

  • Perform accounting accruals, adjustments, and exception handling during the period close process, ensuring timely and accurate month-end reporting.

  • Work closely with sales, operations, legal, and finance teams to ensure alignment on revenue recognition policies, contract terms, and billing processes.

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance revenue accounting processes, leveraging ERP systems, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and SQL for data analysis and reporting efficiency.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition principles, and compliance with SOX and statutory audit requirements.
  • Ability to analyze revenue transactions, perform SSP and carve-out analysis, and support revenue forecasting with accurate data insights.
  • Expertise in ERP systems like Oracle or Zuora RevPro, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, Power Query, Power BI) and basic SQL for data extraction.
  • Proven track record in optimizing revenue accounting processes, implementing automation, and driving efficiency through data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with sales, operations, legal, and finance teams on revenue-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance with 1-4 Years of experience in Revenue Recognition as per US GAAP – Preferably in an IT/Software Industry
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or a CPA with 1-2 years of Experience in any Accounting function that involves compliance with US GAAP
