Position Overview:
A Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing an organization’s financial health. They are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing complex reports, and providing insights to guide strategic decisions. This position typically requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other management reports.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS, and other statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors for audits and provide necessary information and documentation.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Monitor cash flow and promptly process payments to vendors and client receipts.
- Maintain strong internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Ensure statutory deductions (Provident Fund, Professional Tax, etc.) are deducted and paid on time.
Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP B1, or similar) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Malayalam
