Payroll Expert

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Expert to join our global team. In this role, you will ensure the accurate and compliant execution of payroll processes across your designated region. You’ll also collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and clients to provide expert insights on local payroll, HR regulations, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute timely and accurate payroll for your assigned region and support other trained countries as needed

• Manage key local HR and payroll functions including employee onboarding/offboarding, deductions, and benefits setup

• Prepare, reconcile, and analyze internal payroll reports

• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and labor regulations

• Respond to complex payroll and HR inquiries from employees and clients

• Collect and reconcile payroll expenses across various sources

• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure internal processes reflect compliance updates

• Collaborate cross-functionally to offer expert guidance on payroll and HR operations

• Evaluate and recommend payroll software solutions aligned with Deel’s technology standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field

• Proven experience with local payroll systems and regulations

• Advanced knowledge of payroll software solutions

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Strong understanding of tax, benefits, and labor compliance

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder alignment and issue resolution

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

• High level of English fluency (written and spoken)
