Position Overview
As the Team Lead – Accounts Payable, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence and ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of AP services for selected global regions. Working as part of ABB’s Global Business Services, this role focuses on leadership, continuous improvement, stakeholder collaboration, and service performance—while embodying ABB’s core values of safety, respect, and integrity. Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end service delivery for Accounts Payable processes across assigned global regions, ensuring achievement of SLAs, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Oversee AP operations including invoice processing, accounting, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Maintain accurate month-end activities including pre-paid schedules, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.

Identify process gaps, lead root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with internal stakeholders.

Monitor invoice backlog and implement actions to maintain performance thresholds.

Ensure regular reconciliation of AP GLs and resolve open items proactively.

Implement standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives within the AP function.

Manage people operations including hiring, training, retention, team motivation, and performance management for a team of 12–15 members.

Strengthen governance around fraud awareness and internal controls.

Collaborate with tax, finance, and audit teams to resolve complex accounting/tax scenarios.

Ensure high standards of customer value delivery and drive visible business impact.
Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.

Minimum 8+ years of experience in Accounts Payable operations within captive/BPO/global shared services environments.

Proven experience leading large teams (12–15 members) in high-volume, global AP processes.

Strong working knowledge of AP workflows, accounting practices, and US GAAP.

Hands-on experience with SAP and AP workflow tools (preferred).

Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management abilities.

High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
